Family FAQ

Straight answers to important questions.

Every family and every resident is different. These answers are a starting point, and our team is always available to talk through your specific situation.

Understanding care

What is the difference between assisted living and a nursing home?

Assisted living helps with daily needs such as bathing, dressing, medications, meals and mobility in a residential setting. Nursing homes, also called skilled nursing facilities, provide a higher level of medical or rehabilitative care.

What is the difference between assisted living and memory care?

Both provide daily support. Memory care adds routines, supervision and an environment designed for people living with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia. Magnolia and Conroe offer both types of care. Navasota offers assisted living.

How do we know when it may be time for more support?

Common signs include missed medications, falls, weight loss, isolation, unsafe driving, difficulty with personal care, worsening confusion or a family caregiver becoming overwhelmed. One sign does not make the decision, but a pattern is worth discussing.

Is Seasons a skilled nursing or rehabilitation facility?

No. Seasons is licensed for assisted living and, at Magnolia and Conroe, memory care. We do not provide the level of medical or rehabilitative care offered by a skilled nursing facility.

Can someone come to Seasons for a short respite stay?

Short stays may be available when a furnished room is open and the person's needs can be safely supported. Contact us to discuss timing, care needs and current availability.

Cost and coverage

What does care at Seasons typically cost?

Typical monthly rates are around $8,000 at Magnolia and around $5,000 at Conroe and Navasota. The exact rate depends on the community, room and care needs. We will explain pricing clearly after learning more about your situation.

What is included in the monthly rate?

Our all-inclusive approach generally covers the residence, personal care, medication support, meals and snacks, housekeeping, laundry, activities and around-the-clock supervision. We explain any exceptions before move-in.

Does Medicare pay for assisted living?

Medicare generally does not cover assisted living room and board. It may continue to cover eligible medical services, prescriptions or therapy received from outside providers, just as it would at home.

Does Seasons accept Medicaid?

No. Seasons is private pay and does not accept Medicaid.

Can long-term care insurance help pay for care?

It may. Coverage depends on the individual policy, benefit triggers, elimination period and daily or monthly benefit. Families should contact the insurer and request a written explanation of benefits.

Daily life at Seasons

Can residents bring their own furniture and belongings?

Yes. Familiar furniture, photographs, artwork and meaningful belongings can help a new space feel like home. Our team can help you decide what will fit comfortably and safely.

What meals are provided?

Residents receive three daily meals along with snacks and beverages. We learn preferences and dietary needs as part of the resident's care plan.

What kinds of activities are offered?

Activities vary by community and resident interest. They may include music, games, conversation, crafts, movement, time outdoors, celebrations and simple everyday tasks that create purpose and connection.

When can family members visit?

Family connection is important. We welcome visits and encourage families to coordinate with the community when timing, health precautions or a resident's routine require special consideration.

How large are Seasons communities?

Magnolia serves up to 16 residents. Conroe and Navasota each serve up to 14. The smaller size is intentional and helps our team create familiar routines and closer relationships.

Care, health and next steps

Does Seasons help with medications?

Yes. Medication support and management are available as part of the resident's individualized care plan, with secure storage and documentation.

Can home health or hospice come to Seasons?

Yes, when appropriate, outside home health or hospice providers can usually serve a resident at Seasons. We coordinate with the family and provider so responsibilities and the plan of care are clear.

What happens when a resident's care needs change?

We reassess the resident's needs, update the care plan and communicate with the family. If a need falls outside what we can safely provide, we will be honest and help the family understand the next step.

How does the move-in process begin?

It usually starts with a conversation and tour. If Seasons appears to be a fit, we complete a care assessment, review health information, confirm the room and pricing, and help the family plan the move.

What should we bring to a tour?

Bring your questions and, if helpful, a list of current medications and care concerns. You don't need to have every detail organized before visiting. The tour is a chance to learn, observe and decide what you want to explore next.

Still sorting it out?

You don't need to have everything figured out before calling.

Tell us what is happening. We will listen, answer your questions and help you understand whether Seasons may be the right fit.
